Delite Radio Announces So Fine! Howard Johnson Is Coming To Summer Soulstice 2018

So Fine! Howard Johnson Is Coming To Summer Soulstice 2018

Called the "Prophet of Soul" in the 1980's, Howard 'HoJo' Johnson can still wear that moniker with honour as he heads to Summer Soulstice in June...

Starting out as a performer in his hometown of Miami, then as lead singer of Niteflyte (Ariola Records) enjoying several pop hits, before becoming a solo artist with A&M Records, to his current status of being an independent performer, Howard continues to wow fans around the world with his music. He's worked with Barry White, Madonna, Phyllis HymanBoyz II Men, Jermaine Jackson & Tom Jones. Over the years he's toured extensively with fellow soul artists Kashif, Melba Moore & Lillo Thomas.

His 1982 funk jam 'So Fine' (actually a B-Side to 'Keepin' Love New') made it to number 1 on the R&B charts & was all over black music radio in the States at that time. It also did well in the UK reaching top 40's status. Howard scored another massive R&B chart topper in three years later with 'Stand Up' & also gave us another UK dance floor fave with 'Knees', produced by the legendary Jam & Lewis.

More recent projects include 'Jet Black Casanova' (a tale of romance involving a man & woman on opposite sides of the skin colour & class divide) & in 2015 the single 'Bring It On' which received big support from soul radio in the UK & Europe. His A&M albums have also been re-issued by Dutch label PTG in the past few years.

We are extremely honoured to have such a musical dignitary in our midst & look forward to giving HoJo a BIG Summer Soulstice welcome on the Main Stage!
