Norman Halley has been appointed as the station’s new “Head of Music”.

With a DJ career spanning thirty years, Delite’s new Head of Music, Norman Halley, grew up with the strong musical influences of his older brothers listening to Soul and Jazz-Funk which based the focus of gigs he hosted in West London, adding early House music to his repertoire

As manager of Vinylmania, a well-respected dance music record store in Ealing in the 90s, Norman enhanced his knowledge of nightclub music styles.  After almost ten years at Vinylmania, Norman, who resides near Uxbridge in Middlesex, moved to London-based Jazz and Soul radio station, Jazz FM, compiling various album releases.

At Jazz FM, he presented a four-hour early-morning show called “Soul Inspired” and also prepared several successful CD compilation albums based upon his playlists.

One of the highlights of Norman’s career was working with record label Hed Kandi, where he contributed to making the company one of the most successful dance music clubbing and lifestyle brand’s in the UK. It enabled him to DJ at some of the biggest nightclubs in the world.

Delite Radio’s Managing Director, Tony Jay, said, “We are really excited to have Norman as part of the management team.  He's one of the main names at the annual Luxury Soul Weekender in Blackpool and the Blackpool Soul Music Festival.  With these, and his strong working relationships with London's Soul Network and ‘Soul in the Algarve’, as well as his various club appearances at London's Ronnie Scott's, we look forward to Norman delivering even more of the music listeners want to hear

The new appointment and solid management at Delite comes as the programming schedule is altered to facilitate growing musical trends and listener demands.
